i picked this brew because 1) i felt it was time to do an IPA 2) Blind Faith was quite a band
Initial temp holding steady at 70°
racking day: beer a light golden; Did the dry hop on rack day (+2 wks), sterilized a hop bag and 3 polished stones (small enough to fit in the neck of the carboy), tied a string to the hop bag (w/hops inside), the top of the bag is a few inches below the beer level. now, i have read somewhere that it will be difficult to get this out of a carboy and therefore that one should just throw the hops in instead, i have had experience getting possibly tougher things out of carboys that shouldn't have gotten in there, like a rubber cork, will report back on whether or not this works well enough for me (this is my first dry hopped beer)
bottling day: It was a slight pain to get the hops out, i did have to scissor the bag (the stones fell out while i was spooning out the hops), not much trouble though. the bottling leftovers were kind of sweet, but i had been part way through a dogfish head 60 minute IPA when i tasted it, so it might not have been a fair test (the dogfish is nicely bitter)

The recipes described indicate the ingredients I used to brew the beer. These may or may not match with the ingredients found in the cited references. For the authoritative clone recipe and complete descriptions of how to make any of these beers using either extract, mash or mini-mash methods consult the cited text. I heartily recommend the "clone" books referenced, any of them is well worth the small investment and will pay off in great beer.
